Planning/Broad Concept
The Broad Concept was originally designed for the American Forces during World War II, as a way of focusing the mind, and planning an effective stategy.
In financial planning, we suggest the client uses it, to provide a snapshot of their present situation and allow consideration to be given to what may occur in the future. We are all aware of the need to plan but so few of us do it.
- Where am I now?
- Where do I want to be?
- What are the best ways of getting there?
- Which one is the best one for me right now?
The first question allows you to contemplate your present situation.
What do you already have in place with regard to protection ,savings and provision for the future? Is it sufficient?
The second question is about you or your family’s future objectives.
If you’re thinking of early retirement, what provision have you made for that? If your concerns are about protecting the family, what level of protection and for how long? What would happen should you or your partner suffer a critical or protracted illness affecting your income stream?
Question number three is generally where we begin our dialogue.
Here we can offer our skills and knowledge in making you aware of what’s available in the marketplace, to meet your requirements.
Lastly, this is where your commitment begins in addressing the problems discovered in the first two questions. Here the choices are acted upon and our journey together begins.
Financial planning is not rocket science, but it can have deep and lasting effects on your life.
