Hepburns were proud to support a great initiative this year, JSAD Wheelchair Basketball School Outreach programme, with staff providing support and officiation. Some 600 youngsters take part in trying out wheelchair basketball during the week of the annual Disability Games, and the feedback from these sessions have always been extremely positive. In one case a student reported “it was the best PE lesson I have ever had”.  Several of them have now joined the JSAD as volunteers!

The Outreach Programme for 2015 went on the road again from Monday 16 November to Friday 20 November. Once again, the JSAD were fortunate to have been able to secure the services of Gordon Perry to lead the 2015 programme .  Gordon is a regular and familiar face in Jersey now, and brings with him much experience of wheelchair basketball, having represented Great Britain at Paralympic level. He was also the national development manager for the sport for over 20 years, before launching his latest adventure, the The Gordon Perry Wheelchair Basketball Experience
