The following provides a very brief description of the typical cover & terms offered.

Personal Accident

  • Continental Scale of Benefits will apply to the Capital Benefits
  • The weekly benefit is subject to a 14-day deferment period
  • The weekly benefit is payable for a maximum of 104 weeks
  • The weekly benefit payable cannot exceed 60% of the Insured person’s gross weekly income
  • The Temporary Total Disablement section would pay the benefit if unable to work from the individual’s usual occupation

Medical Expenses

  • 24 hour medical emergency service and Medivac to the nearest place where necessary treatment can safely be received
  • Repatriation back to the individual’s country of domicile/nationality. Cover normally excludes cover whilst inside the country of domicile/nationality. However, Insurers will extend cover to include this, providing such expenses are incurred within 90 days of the date of the accident or return to their home country for accidental injury only (i.e. excluding illness)
  • Additional costs involving the replacement of personnel, including return fares to work once recovered at US$5,000. The onus of proof that replacement is necessary lies with the Assured
  • An excess of usually US$75.00 will apply in respect of each and every claim
  • Cover will not include medical conditions that existed or have required treatment prior to the inception of the Policy
